Meet Monique, The Visionary Behind NYC’s Signature Yankees Cap, Reimagined
Hi! I’m Monique, born and raised in New York City, with a lifelong love for fashion. My passion started at age seven with my mother’s Durango boots, and it only grew as I explored the Bronx, always on the lookout for vintage pieces. One unforgettable find was a Marc Jacobs bottle-cap motor jacket, that I couldn’t get when I seen it, and it stuck with me.
After experiencing what felt like heartbreak, I poured my emotions into writing a book. As the book launch event approached, I dreamed of designing my own custom blazer but didn’t yet have the courage. Instead, I started selling custom hoodies inspired by the book. The overwhelming response showed me that people wanted to wear my art, and I realized it was time to do what I’d always dreamed: create art through fashion.
That’s how GlitzGalore was born in December 2019—a brand dedicated to turning statement pieces into wearable art.
